Roxbury Weston Preschool Faculty

Ingrid Mansfield, the preschool director, is a graduate of Boston College with dual certificates in elementary and special education through the Mass Department of Education and the Department of Early Education and Care. Mrs. Mansfield has more than 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and was the lead teacher for the 3s & 4s for eight years. She assumed the role of director in September 2008.

Janet Marshall, the head teacher of the 4’s and 5’s class, has 25 years of teaching experience and has been the lead teacher since 1997. She attended Middlesex Community College and Lesley University, where she studied Human Development and Early Education. She was a recent recipient of the Mellon Foundation Scholarship given to Roxbury Weston Programs.

Denise Simmons, a teacher in the 4’s and 5’s class,  attended Brandeis University where she studied Sociology and completed her education certification through Bunker Hill Community College, Wheelock College, and Urban College. Denise is certified by the Mass Department of Early Education and Care and has devoted 12 years to Roxbury Weston Programs.

CATCH Director Karen Peterkin

Karen Peterkin, director of CATCH, has over 10 years of experience teaching in Canada and the US and has been with Roxbury Weston for 6 years. Karen has an Associate’s Degree from Centennial College in Toronto, Canada and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from Wheelock.

Patricia Boffa, head teacher in the 3’s and 4’s class, joined the preschool in September 2008. She is a graduate of Emmanuel College and has been involved in the early education of young children for over 30 years.

Bhanu Srinivasan, a teacher in the 3’s and 4’s class, holds two degrees from India: one in Education and the other in Finance. She is certified with the Mass Department of Early Education and Care and has been with Roxbury Weston since 2007.
